Description

Homeleigh is a house that has a core dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with a 19th-century addition. The building is whitewashed and rendered, while the 19th-century addition features slate hanging on the front. The roof is made of scantle slate on the left-hand end, with gabled slate roofs at both ends of the 19th-century addition. There are two chimney stacks: one at the junction of the left-hand block and the 19th-century addition, and another at the right gable end. The left-hand end may have originally been part of a single property with the adjoining 'Brambles', but the original layout is unclear.

Homeleigh has a front gabled projection on the left end, which may have served as a chamber to the hall located at the right-hand end. The 19th-century block, which is slightly advanced, has two storeys and is separately roofed with an integral outshut. The front features an irregular three-window arrangement, with a front door located to the left of the 19th-century block. The gabled projection includes a ground floor 20th-century two-light casement window with glazing bars beneath a wider drip ledge, and a 20th-century window on the first floor. The middle windows are early 19th-century 20-pane sashes without horns. The two windows in the 19th-century block are four-pane sashes set in deep reveals.

Inside, the left-hand block has a chamfered cross beam and chamfered joists, although some joists have been replaced in the 20th century. The fireplace in this block has been blocked.
