Description

Thrushall Farmhouse is probably a 16th-century farmhouse, although it has undergone alterations in the 19th century. It is roughcast, with a corrugated asbestos roof gabled at each end and a large rendered axial stack on the ridge. It was likely originally a three-room plan with a through passage, and is said to have been damaged by a fire in the 20th century. The current arrangement is a single-depth plan with a rear projection which may have served as a stair turret. The front facade is asymmetrical with three windows, and lacks windows in the centre. The entrance is on the front, to the right, and features an open-front porch with a raking slate roof. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements with glazing bars, with three on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The interior was not inspected; roof timbers are understood to have been replaced.
