Description

Hayne Bridge is a road bridge over the River Thrushel, likely rebuilt in the 17th century from an earlier structure, with later repairs. It is constructed of stone rubble and features four spans, tall cutwaters, parapets, and a round arch ring. The bridge has chamfered imposts at the springing of the arches, with hoodmoulds above the arches on the left and right-hand spans. The springing of the central two arches indicates that they may have been pointed before the rebuilding. The parapets may have been partially rebuilt. The roadway measures approximately 3.5 metres in width.
