Description

No 1 on West Street is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century, located at the corner of Church Lane. It has three storeys, with painted slate-hanging on the upper levels and a hipped slate roof. There are two sash windows, and the building features early 19th-century shopfronts facing both West Street and Church Lane. The shopfront on West Street includes fluted half-round Tuscan pilasters. A heavy party wall on the right side indicates that there may have been an older structure here. Additionally, there is a lower two-storey range along the Church Lane elevation.
