Description
Number 1 on Church Lane is a building dating from around 1825, likely designed by the architect John Foulston, who was active in Tavistock during this period. The building is finished in stucco and showcases Greek Revival style. It has two storeys and features three windows that are slightly battered and set on a plinth. The central part of the façade includes a doorway flanked by side-lights, with a three-light window above it. This window is adorned with strip pilasters and incised line ornamentation between the lights, topped by a central pediment. The windows are tall casements with eared architraves, and the gable ends of the building also feature pediments.
