Description
No 1 Church Lane is an early 19th-century corner house with a roughcast facade and a hipped slate roof. The building has two storeys and features two windows on each elevation, along with an additional window in the one-storey outshut facing Silver Street. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and cambered heads, some of which have jalousies and later insertions. The entrance has an early 19th-century style doorcase and a six-panelled door. On the west side, facing Church Lane, there is a one-storey outshut that includes an early 19th-century style inserted bow window, flanked by roundels. This property, along with Nos 1 to 12 (consecutive, excluding No 5), forms a group with Nos 1 and 2 Priory Place, which are buildings of local interest, and it also contributes to the group with buildings on Silver Street.
