Description
No. 1 Church Lane, which includes No. 18 Main Street, has origins dating back to the 17th century and underwent alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof, with an L-shaped plan and two storeys. The entrance front has a three-window range of 19th-century casement windows set beneath wooden lintels. To the left of the centre, there is a 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel. The building has brick stacks at the ridge and end. The elevation to the right of the entrance front consists of a two-window range of tiff casement windows, also under wooden lintels, along with a three-light stone mullion window on the ground floor to the right. A central ashlar stack with a moulded cornice is present. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have a fireplace with a moulded stone surround.
