Description
Bulwick Stores and Post Office is a house that has been converted into a house and shop. It has origins dating back to the 17th century and underwent alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. It originally had a three-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The front has an irregular arrangement of four windows, which are 19th-century casements set under wooden lintels. There is a three-light stone mullion window to the right of the centre. To the left, there is a plank door, while to the right of the centre, there are part-glazed double doors from the 19th century, and a part-glazed shop door at the far right, all also under wooden lintels. A central brick chimney stack was added in the 20th century, and there is a 19th-century sash window in the right gable. The interior features exposed ceiling beams and likely retains remnants of an open fireplace. The building is noted for having a raised cruck with a later roof structure.
