Description
Inchmore House is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is built of regular coursed and squared limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, the house likely had a 3-unit plan set at right angles to the road. The building is partly single-storey with an attic, and partly two storeys, with a four-window front featuring irregularly spaced casement windows beneath wooden lintels. Two hipped eaves dormers are present on the right side. A partially glazed door, set within a 20th-century porch, is located centrally, and a 20th-century door is found to the right, also with a wooden lintel. The bay on the far right is set back and was probably added later. Brick stacks rise from the roof ridge. A bay on the left, which previously abutted the road, was removed in the mid-20th century. Inside, the room to the right of the entrance still has the remains of an open fireplace with a bressumer. The room to the left of the entrance and the kitchen on the far right feature 18th-century fielded panelled dados. The kitchen also has exposed ceiling joists laid horizontally.
