Description
Paradise Cottage is a cottage with an adjoining integral outbuilding, dating from the mid to late 17th century and modernised in the late 20th century. It features rendered cob walls and a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end and gabled at the right end, with a brick stack at the right gable end. The cottage has a two-room plan with the integral outbuilding on the left-hand side, while the right-hand room is heated.
The exterior is two storeys high with a regular two-window front, where the windows are positioned towards the right-hand end, which is the main part of the house. It has 20th-century two-light casement windows and a central 20th-century plank door. Inside, the fireplace has a cambered wooden lintel that is chamfered with a hollow step stop at the left end, and there is a brick oven. One original roof truss remains, featuring a cambered collar that is halved and dovetailed onto the straight principals, with mortices in its soffit for a partition.
