Description
This is a shippon with a hayloft over, dating from the 18th century, located about 20 meters west of Buddle. The building is constructed of cob on stone rubble, which was formerly plastered, and has a corrugated iron roof that is gabled at both ends, likely originally thatched. It is positioned at right angles to Buddle and creates a yard in front of the house.
The front elevation features three simple doorways leading into the shippon, and to the left, there is a possibly reused 17th-century four-light ovolo-moulded mullioned window with remnants of shutters, along with one ventilation slit. Stone steps provide access to a loading entrance on the right, while a smaller loft entrance is located on the left. The roof trusses were added in the 20th century.
