Description
Amy's Cottage, including the outbuilding adjoining to the north, is a cottage and outbuilding that dates from the early 18th century, with a 19th-century addition. The structure features plastered cob walls and a thatched roof that is gabled at the left end and hipped at the right. The plan consists of two rooms, with a larger heated room on the left and a smaller service room on the right. There is a 19th-century outbuilding attached at the left end and an outshut in front of the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has one window. On the left side, there are 19th-century small-paned two-light casements on each floor. A 19th-century lean-to is located in front of the right side, which includes a 20th-century glass lean-to porch at the angle. The single-storey outbuilding, which belongs to Hideaway Cottage, is attached at the left-hand end.
Inside, the left-hand room features a large stone rubble fireplace with a chamfered timber bressumer that has run-out stops, along with an oven that includes a stone shelf and a 19th-century iron door.
