Description
This building is an outbuilding located approximately 15 meters north-north-east of Coombe, originally serving as a stable, granary, and cowhouse. It features a datestone from 1865 on the stable and granary section to the left, with the cowhouse situated to the right. The structure is constructed from coursed slatestone rubble and has a gabled slate roof, with corrugated iron on the right side.
The stable is two stories tall, with a granary on the first floor to the left. It has tympanum arches above timber lintels over 20th-century plank doors, which are equipped with 19th-century strap hinges. There are two iron-barred windows on the first floor, set in heavy pegged frames, and stone steps lead to a 19th-century plank loft door that features a cathole in the left gable end.
The cowhouse to the right has a similar barred window above a round-arched doorway at the center, flanked by timber lintels over a half-blocked door to the left and 20th-century double doors to the right. There is also a timber lintel over a half-blocked double entry at the extreme right. Inside, the cowhouse boasts a six-bay A-frame roof with a ridge purlin set in crossed apexes. This building is included for its group value.
