Description

These are likely early 19th-century terraced houses, numbered 21 to 25, on the west side of Castle Street. They are three- and two-window houses, with roughcast facades and slate roofs. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, although those at number 21 have been altered. Number 21 has a late Georgian doorcase with tall, engaged columns, while the others have a simpler flat architrave above the entrance. Number 23 features a six-panel door with fielded upper panels. At number 25, the first-floor windows have exposed frames and retain much of their original glazing. There is an additional window above a former carriageway, positioned to the left, with double doors below. Numbers 5 to 13 (odd), 21 to 25 (odd), 2 to 8 (even), 18, 20 and Castle House form a group.
