Description
These are a pair of early 17th-century cottages located on the east side of Castle Street, with alterations made around 1735. The cottages are two storeys high and have plaster walls. The original thatched roof has been replaced with slate. There are two wooden casement windows on the right-hand side. Windows at each floor, on the left-hand side, have partially exposed frames and glazing bars. The cottages feature old stone chimneys located on the ridge and at the rear. A rendered stone wall is situated at the south end of the row. Numbers 2 to 8 (even), numbers 18 and 20, Castle House, and numbers 5 to 13 (odd), numbers 21 to 25 (odd) on the west side form a group.
