Description

Nos 2 and 4 Castle Street is a building that likely dates from the 17th century and has been altered. It is a two-storey cottage block with four windows, finished in roughcast. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, which probably replaced the original thatch. The building features sash windows with exposed frames and glazing bars. There are two round-headed doorways with plain reveals and tympana. The door for No 2 is a six-panel design with sunk upper panels. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 8 (even), Nos 18 and 20 Castle House, and Nos 5 to 13 (odd) and Nos 21 to 25 (odd) on the west side.
