Description
The stable, located approximately 20 meters south of Witherhill Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century and underwent alterations in the late 19th century. It is constructed of cob on a high stone rubble plinth, with some sections rebuilt in uncoursed stone rubble and red-brick dressings. The roof is gable-ended and covered with late 19th century clay tiles, while there is a lean-to roof over a small adjoining cartshed. The building is aligned roughly northwest to southeast, facing the farmyard to the southwest. It features an off-centre plank loft door on the right and a pair of late 19th century ground-floor casement windows with segmental heads, flanking a plank door with a wooden lintel. The interior has not been inspected. This stable is part of a farmstead group that includes Witherhill Farmhouse.
