Description
This stable, located to the north-west of Rowley Hill Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century. It features a rectangular plan with a timber frame, weatherboarding, red brick, and a clay tiled roof. The south front elevation has framing that is infilled with lower brickwork and upper weatherboarding, and the roof is hipped at the west end. There are two doorways with 20th-century metal doors and one wooden two-leaf stable door. Inside, the stable has a clasped side purlin roof, with tie-beams that have bolted knee braces. The three outer corners include angle ties and short dragon beams. The rear wall is made of brick with flint cobble panels reaching full height, and the floor is composed of square bricks throughout its entire length.
