Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage, likely with a 19th-century outshut added later. It is constructed with rendered walls, possibly over cob, and has a thatched roof, half-hipped to the right side. Brick end stacks are present. A stone rubble outshut has a lean-to slate roof. The cottage's original plan features two rooms arranged centrally, facing north, with end stacks positioned externally on the right side. A 19th-century outshut extends from the rear.

The front elevation presents a symmetrical facade with three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. These windows are late 19th-century, featuring small panes in wooden casements. A late 19th-century canted bay window is located on the right side of the ground floor, also with small-paned wooden casements arranged in a 1:2:1 pattern, and topped with a hipped slate roof. The central doorway has a late 19th-century plank door set within a chamfered wooden frame. The rear of the cottage displays 19th-century two-light wooden casements on both the ground and first floors to the left. The outshut has a two-light wooden casement to its right and a half-glazed door to its left. The interior remains uninspected. The cottage is situated on an island site at the south end of the village, and adjoins Rose Cottage.
