Description

This chest tomb, dated 1708, is located approximately 8 metres south of the Church of St Mary in Buckland Filleigh. It commemorates William Milford and features stone ashlar sides with a slate lid that has a coved soffit. On the side facing the church, there is an arched niche. The lid is inscribed with a border in Gothic print and includes an epitaph at the centre.
