Description

Lovacott is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with a possible later 19th-century addition. It features plastered stone walls and a hipped slate roof, with gables on the rear wings. The building has two brick axial stacks and one at the gable end of the rear wing. The front range is double depth, with rooms on either side of a central entrance hall. There are two rear wings, one of which is likely an original service wing.

The house is two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window front. On the first floor, there are original 12-pane hornless sash windows, with projecting keystones above the outer ones. Below, on each side, are three-light canted bay windows, which are probably original but have had late 20th-century PVC lights inserted. A central glazed porch has been added below the original canopy door hood, featuring a six-panel door with a semi-circular fanlight above. The right-hand corner of the front displays the remains of rusticated plaster quoins. At the rear, there are two parallel wings to the left and centre.

The interior was not accessible during the survey but is likely to contain original joinery, including doors, shutters, and staircase, as well as simple plasterwork.
