Description
This barn, located approximately 15 metres east of Middlewood Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century, with 19th-century additions and late 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of rendered cob on a stone rubble plinth and features a gable-ended clay-tile roof that was originally thatched. The barn is aligned roughly north-south and has central opposed cart entrances, along with a likely 19th-century outshut to the west. The cart entrances are fitted with a pair of boarded doors, wooden lintels, and short sections of wall that support shallow porches. The interior has not been inspected. This barn is part of a farmstead group that includes Middlewood Farmhouse.
