Description
This is a barn located approximately 3 metres south of Ramscliffe Farmhouse. It likely dates from the 18th century, with a mid-19th century addition. The barn is constructed of cob on a stone rubble plinth, with the addition made of uncoursed stone rubble. It has a gable-ended roof covered with corrugated asbestos, which was probably thatched originally, and the addition features a gable-ended roof of Welsh slate, with a 20th-century bitumen covering. The barn is aligned roughly north-south, consisting of the 18th-century section to the south with an entrance on the east side, and a small 19th-century addition to the north. There is a large cart entrance on the east with a wooden lintel. This barn is part of a small farmstead group that includes the farmhouse to the north.
