Description

This barn, located approximately 15 meters north of Ramsden Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century and has undergone some minor alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of five bays and has opposed central cart entrances, each with wooden lintels. The rear entrance retains a pair of large boarded doors. The front of the barn has a pair of inserted 20th-century three-light wooden casements, also with wooden lintels. There is a vent and a blocked opening in the left-hand gable end. Inside, the barn has collar-and-tie-beam trusses and pairs of purlins. The barn is included for its group value.
