Description

This barn, located approximately 10 metres north east of Church Farmhouse, dates to the 18th century with later alterations. It is constructed of random limestone rubble with stone dressings and features slag block long and short quoins. The roof is double-Roman tiled with pantiles, and has raised coped verges and ball finials to the gables. The west elevation incorporates a high cart entry with a hipped roof, a wide timber lintel, and double doors. It also includes ventilation slits on either side, and a single-storey addition extends from each side of the cart entry. The left return wall shows a ventilation slit, a loading door, an owl hole, and a single-storey, 20th-century addition. The right return wall displays a loading door and an owl hole. A tall cart entry with doors and a timber lintel is present on the rear elevation, accompanied by ventilation slits on each side. The interior has not been inspected.
