Description
Nos 24 and 25 are a pair of semi-detached cottages located in Clovelly, dating from the early to mid-19th century and remodelled around 1900 by Christine Hamlyn. The cottages are rendered and whitewashed, featuring bands of alternating raised quoins on each side and a gabled slate roof with a clay ridge. They have a symmetrical layout with adjoining doorways at the center, each cottage having a main front room to the right and left, and a double depth plan.
The exterior is two storeys with an attic, showcasing a symmetrical front with two front-facing gables. Each gable has 2-light 12-paned casements set in reveals, with those on the second floor located in gabled half-dormers that have cusped pierced front-facing gables. The paired door openings at the center have plank doors and are topped with paired gabled wooden hoods featuring pierced cusped front-facing bargeboards. The forecourt is slightly raised and has wooden uprights with finials, along with three rows of simple iron tubular railings. The interior has not been inspected.
