Description
31 and 32 North Hill are a pair of cottages from the 18th century that were altered in the early 20th century by Christine Hamlyn. They have a rubble plinth and are likely constructed from rubble and cob, topped with a gable-ended slate roof that has two pitches and a brick stack at each end.
The cottages are arranged in a rectangular shape, stepped up the hill, and are two storeys high. The exterior features three windows on each floor. The 18th-century casements have small-paned lights and glazing bars, while the first floor includes a horizontally-sliding sash window with a shaped gable above it on the right. The ground floor has two 18th-century casements with square-paned leaded lights. There are two door openings; on the left is a half-glazed door, and on the right is a plank door with a glazed upper panel, both covered by slated pent hoods. To the left, there is a 19th-century brick outshut with a slated lean-to roof and a plank door. The interior has not been inspected.
