Description
The lych gate and attached walls are located on the east side of the churchyard of St. Andrew and are connected to the north end of Town Farm Cottage. The walls date from the 17th century and are made of coursed slatestone rubble, featuring a drip course beneath a triangular coping. The late 19th-century lych gate has a stone construction with a gabled roof covered in Welsh slate. It includes a wood-framed door with cast-iron bars. The lych gate is flanked by approximately 11 meters of wall to the north and 18 meters of wall to the south, which features steps leading to two old stiles, likely from the 17th century, providing access from the farmyard to the churchyard. This structure is included for its group value.
