GV II

Terrace-house. Early C19. Solid rendered front, the ground storey horizontally-channelled. Slate roof. Rendered chimney on each side-wall. 3 storeys with semi-basement; 3-window range. Doorway in place of middle ground-storey window, approached by 6 steps; Greek Doric porch with triangular pediment; 6-panelled door with matching reveals and knocker, the bottom panels flush. Ground-storey windows have 8-paned sashes. Those in second storey have 4-paned French windows with margin-panes; continuous patterned iron balcony. Third-storey windows have 2-paned sashes in centre; 2-light wood casements on the outsides, each light with 2 panes. Semi-basement window to left blocked; that to right converted to loading-entrance with plank doors. Prominent boxed eaves cornice. The channelling and the eaves cornice are continued across No 19, although there is a distinct break in the cornice. The balcony is also closely similar in design to that of No 19. INTERIOR not inspected.
