Description
No. 5 The Strand is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features solid rendered walls and a hipped slate roof on the right side. The building has two storeys and an irregular two-window arrangement. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door that is accessed by three steps; the bottom panels are flush, with matching reveals, flanking pilasters, and an entablature.
To the right of the door, there is a two-storeyed canted bay window topped with a bracketed cornice. This bay window has barred sashes, with six panes in the ground storey and two panes with margin-panes in the second storey. On the left side, there is a sash window on each storey, although they are not directly aligned. All the sash windows are six-paned with margin-panes and have bracketed sills. The front of the house is flanked by raised quoins, and there is a plain stepped board below the eaves. The return front to the right also features raised quoins and includes two small windows with glazing-bars at the right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
