Description

This linhay, located about 5 metres north-east of Tuckett's Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of stone and cob, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end and gabled at the right end. The front elevation features weatherboarding below the loft. The building has a rectangular plan with six bays, a solid wall at the left end, and an open front at the right end. The open fronted loft is supported by granite monoliths, while the front right and left supports, as well as the support in the second bay from the left, are full height re-used timber screws from a cider press. The roof features pegged collar rafter trusses. This linhay is part of a notable group of Vernacular Revival and traditional thatched farm buildings at Tuckett's Farm.
