Description
This is a late 18th and early 19th century house located on Wolborough Street in Newton Abbot. The front is painted Flemish-bond brick laid on a chamfered Devon limestone rubble plinth, topped by a slate roof with rendered stacks at the gable ends. The house is built on a double-depth plan and includes a rear left wing.
The exterior presents a symmetrical three-window facade over three storeys. The windows are sash types, with rubbed brick flat arches over moulded forward frames. The upper floor has 4/8-pane sashes, while the lower floors feature 8/8-pane sashes. A six-panel door, glazed at the top, is set within a doorcase featuring panelled pilasters with fluted friezes and a dentil cornice. Rendered returns flank the entrance; the left return includes a late 19th-century stair window with margin panes. The interior of the property has not been inspected.
