GV II

Lodge. Early/mid C19. Painted stucco, slate roof with moulded stacks to gable ends with fretted bargeboards and ridge of right wing. L-plan with a lower rear right wing. Picturesque Tudor Gothic style. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Label moulds to 1st-floor casement windows with elaborate leaded glazing. Hipped roofs to single-storey canted bays with 2-light casement windows flanking a large gabled porch with fretted bargeboards, planked door and windows in the returns. INTERIOR: not inspected. A good example of one of the cottage ornee buildings dotted around Teignmouth and Shaldon, distinguished by its ornate glazing.
