Description
Glencoe is an early 19th-century house located on Old Exeter Street in Chudleigh. The building is whitewashed, plastered, and likely made of stone, with a bitumen-painted slate roof that has gables at both ends. It features a left end stack and a stack at the rear of the ridge. The house has a double depth plan, consisting of two rooms wide with a central entrance and a passage through the right-hand end. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical front with two bays plus one bay above an archway at the right end. The central entrance has a six-panel front door, with the top panels glazed, and is sheltered by a flat porch hood supported by moulded timber brackets. The windows are 12-pane sash windows with margin glazing. There are iron railings in front of the house. The interior has not been inspected. Glencoe is part of a group with the adjoining Alma House (number 6).
