Description
Barne House is an early 19th-century house located on Christow Dry Lane. The building is whitewashed and plastered with a slate roof that has gabled ends and end stacks featuring brick shafts. It has a double depth plan, with two principal heated rooms at the front on either side of the entrance, and service rooms at the rear in an integral outshut. The exterior is two storeys high and has a three-bay symmetrical front. The entrance features a 19th-century panelled front door with a rectangular fanlight above it, and there are 19th-century 12-pane timber sash windows. Barne House is an unspoiled example of early 19th-century architecture, oriented gable end to the road.
