GV II

House, divided between the Post Office (to the right) and a bank (to the left). Early C19. Rendered with a slate roof behind a parapet, gabled at ends; end stacks. Plan: Double depth rectangular plan with a central entrance into a passage. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a parapet; a recessed panelled front door in the centre with panelled reveals and a pilastered doorcase with an entablature. 2 storey canted bays to left and right, divided by pilasters. The ground floor windows have been reglazed with plate glass, the first floor windows in the bays are 2-pane sashes; 2-pane sash above front door, flanked by pilasters. 3 attic dormers. Part of a good group on The Strand.
