Description
The former Post Office, known as Ty Cennin, is an early 19th century house built in an L-shaped plan, with the rear wing situated on a slight incline. It is constructed of coursed rubble masonry and features dressed, coursed stonework. The roof is slate with close eaves and includes broad, rectangular stone stacks that have dripstones and capping.
The main part of the building, which faces west towards the road, is three stories high and has three windows. The first and second floors contain horned sash windows with slate sills; the first-floor windows have 16 panes, while the second-floor windows are unequal sashes with 12 panes. The shop front has a central half-glazed doorway, flanked by canted bay windows that each have two-pane horned sash windows with glazing bars.
On the L-shaped northern gable return and the rear wing, there are small-paned horned sash windows on both the ground and first floors, with the smaller windows at the far end of the rear wing set at a higher level. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
