Description

No. 3 Sawmill Cottages is an estate cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of grey limestone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with a central axial stack. The building has a plan that consists of two rooms wide with a central entrance located against the stack. The exterior is two storeys high and presents a symmetrical five-bay front. The central entrance features a plank front door topped with a rectangular fanlight. The windows are 19th or 20th century two-light timber casements with glazing bars, and the ground floor windows have segmental arches. The cottage is part of an attractive group of estate cottages along with Nos. 1 and 2.
