Description

No. 2 Sawmill Cottages is an estate cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of grey limestone rubble with brick dressings and features a red pantile roof that is gabled at both ends. The building has a single-depth, two-room plan with a single-storey porch block attached to the left end.

The cottage is two storeys tall and has an asymmetrical front with a 1:2 window arrangement and regular fenestration. The front door is made of planks and includes a rectangular fanlight with small panes. To the left of the door, there is one window, while to the right, the two-storey main block has two bays with a window. All windows have brick jambs, segmental brick arches, and original iron casements with diamond glazing bars.

The interior has not been inspected. This cottage forms an attractive group with Nos. 1 and 3 Sawmill Cottages.
