Description

The dovecote at Bigbury Court Hotel is a pigeon house, likely dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of rubble and features a stone conical dome roof, which was noted to be much overgrown during a survey in July 1986. The building is circular in shape and has an opening with voussoirs in a segmental arch facing the farmhouse to the north. On the opposite side, there is a high small opening with a landing shelf. Inside, there are 13 rows of staggered pigeon holes and a stone dome at the center opening. This dovecote is a notable survival from the earlier farm group associated with Bigbury Court Hotel.
