Description
Bigbury Cottage is a detached cottage that was formerly an inn, dating from the late 17th century or 18th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features three small 2-light casement windows with glazing bars, although two of these have only horizontal bars. There is an off-centre porch on the left side, which leads to a 20th-century door, and it is covered by a lean-to roof. The cottage has two large gable stacks; the right return is plain, while the left has a 20th-century 2-light casement window. At the back, there is a 20th-century extension. Inside, there is a notable bressumer fireplace and the remains of a stair on the right side. It is reputed that the cottage was originally thatched.
