Description

Broadway Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. It has rendered rubble walls and a gable ended thatched roof with stone coping at one end. There is a brick stack at each gable. The cottage originally comprised two rooms of roughly equal size, each heated by an end stack, with a 19th-century addition at the left-hand end. The front elevation, facing the road, features a 19th-century plank door centrally positioned, with an early 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash window to its left on the ground floor. A later 19th-century 4-pane sash window is located in the single-storey addition. The rear elevation contains mid-20th century diamond-leaded pane casements and a large 20th-century conservatory. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
