Description
The Dolphin Inn is an inn that dates from the 17th or 18th century and has undergone significant modifications. It is constructed of rubble and rendered at the back, featuring an asbestos cement slate roof, some slate on the outshuts, and one section covered with corrugated iron. The front of the building, which is continuous with Park Cottage to the left, has two storeys and displays three over four windows, all of which are two-light timber casements with wood lintels and mostly include glazing bars. There is a four-panel flush door to the left of center, which is sheltered by a timber hood.
On the right side, there is a large stepped external stack made of brick, along with a decorative frieze that features two dolphins and the name "Dolphin Inn." The back of the building has a stair projection towards the left end and a plank door, as well as two added outshuts, one of which partly overlaps Park Cottage. A second brick stack is located at the former gable end. The interior has been largely opened up, with the right room featuring a large bressummer fireplace that has a substantial stone lintel above it, along with remnants of a spiral stair.
