Description

The Churchyard Cross in Kingston Village Centre is a Grade II listed structure. It features some medieval elements but was mainly reconstructed in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII. The cross is made of granite and has a tapered octagonal shaft composed of three stones, leading to a terminal cross that is also in octagonal cross-section. It stands on a weathered octagonal base, which bears a commemorative inscription. Two-thirds of the base is original stone and reads, '...... in pious memory of those who first erected this cross ......'. The cross is situated on concrete paving slabs, approximately 4 metres northeast of the north corner of the church's north aisle.
