Description

The building at 37 Fore Street dates to approximately 1824-1825 and was originally constructed as one of a pair alongside number 35. It is a three-storey building with two window bays. The roof is covered in Welsh slate and the front is timber-framed with slate hanging. The building features an entablature with a flirted frieze and a dentil cornice. Splayed three-light bay windows extend through the ground and first floors, incorporating sash windows. A shop front was added in the later 19th century, featuring a console-bracketed entablature with a dentil cornice and a shop window with columnnet-mullions. A doorway is located at the west end, featuring an arched fanlight above a raised and fielded panel door.
