Description
38 Fore Street is a building that likely dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, but it was rebuilt in the early 19th century as a double pile house while retaining the original masonry party walls. The building has three storeys and features three windows. It has a Welsh slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice. The front is timber-framed and plastered, with a jettied first floor. The windows are flush framed, architraved sash windows with glazing bars. There is a wooden double shopfront that includes reeded pilaster-strips, patterae stops, and a projecting bressumer-cornice. Additionally, there are double panelled gates leading to a side passage at the east end.
