Description

This building on Fore Street comprises numbers 17, 17A, and 19. It dates from the earlier 19th century and has been altered since its original construction. The building is three storeys high and has two windows. It is topped with a Welsh slate roof, featuring a plain eaves band. At the western end, a section of a former building’s masonry party wall remains; this wall incorporates a moulded corbel from the 1st floor, indicating a jettied construction likely dating to the 16th or 17th century. The front of the building is timber-framed and covered in slate hanging. It has architraved sash windows. The ground floor currently houses modern shops and entrances. The building is included on the list for its group value.
