Description
30 Fore Street is an early to mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall with a semi-basement. The main façade features three windows facing south towards Bank Lane, one window facing High Street, and a bowed corner window treatment. It has a hipped roof covered with Welsh slate and projecting bracketed eaves. The exterior is finished in stucco. The windows are recessed and have architraves, with sash designs that include glazing bars and keys adorned with medusa medallions.
There is a prostyle Ionic portico at the entrance, which features an architraved doorway with panelled reveals, a rectangular fanlight, and a raised and fielded panel door, all accessed by steps. The area in front of the building is enclosed with cast iron railings. The ground floor includes a double-fronted shop that has pilasters supporting an entablature with a dentil cornice, and the shop window is designed with columnette mullions.
