Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century house in a row, located on the west side of Brown Street in Modbury. The exterior is rendered and finished to resemble ashlar, with a slate roof that is hipped on the left-hand side. The house has two storeys and two windows. The ground floor window has 16 panes, and the window above has 12 panes, both set within moulded architraves. An off-centre, left-hand entrance leads to the front door, which is approached by five rendered steps with wrought iron handrails featuring urn-shaped standards. The door itself is a four-pane part-glazed flush door within a plain pilaster surround, topped with consoles and a cornice. A plinth runs along the base of the building. The ground floor windows have internal shutters.
