Description
11 Brownston Street is a former warehouse that has been converted into flats, located at the end of a row of buildings. It likely dates from the early 19th century but has undergone significant modifications in the mid-20th century. The structure features rubble on the two lower floors, while the top floor is finished with slate-hung brick on the left side and asbestos-cement slate hanging on the front and return to Back Street. The roof is hipped and made of asbestos-cement slate. The building stands three storeys tall and has three windows with replacement 12-pane sash windows. The centre bay window is set in a blocked broad opening that has bull-nosed jambs and a wide segmental arch. To the left, there is a small section of a connecting boundary wall with a brick arched opening. The right return is plain and includes a 20th-century addition.
